Throughout my life, I have been getting myself involved in quiet few online projects and have never really thought of why I am doing it. In each of those projects, I was building up a website that was focused on a particular subject (Legal, Finance, social, etc..). I have struggled in keeping the momentum on the project itself and catering for the needs of that group of people.
Recently a friend of mine have asked me to set up a website for his related association, and he wanted it completed in that same day. I have previously tried few common CMSs and other systems which I have put together for my previous endeavors. So what came to my mind based on his needs is WordPress.
I started with a basic account with wordpress.com and put together a little blog for him in few hours. He then started using it to publish the articles which he wanted it the website for.
The feedback which I have received from him as well as the people who are associated with that particular association was fabulous, even though I have not made anything special., It was WordPress out of the box with a free template that I used.
Later that night I could not stop thinking how satisfied I was with what I have done for him. At that point I realized it. The satisfaction that I was getting from putting up the site itself was what I was really after. All of those projects that I have worked on were done for the satisfaction of putting the site itself together. It was never about the subject matter of that site itself, and that is why I have never been able to keep up the momentum going.
I have decided to start this blog from scratch, Go through the satisfaction of putting it together and maintaining it, and share the knowledge through this blog.
Those are my two cents for the day. Let us begin the journey of making this blog the go-to for beginners on WordPress.
